Creve Coeur is a fabulous place to live.  It gets it's name from a legend about an Indian Princess who loved a French Fur Trader.  He left her to go back to a French woman, the Indian maiden threw herself off a cliff into the Lake and drowned.  Creve Coeur means Broken Heart in French, in honor of the Indian Maiden's broken heart. Creve Coeur Lake was the location of the rowing competition during the Summer Olympics that were held in St Louis in 1904. Centered around Olive Street Road (also called Olive Blvd), there are original home sites in the Creve Coeur area that are 200 years old.

Today, Creve Coeur boasts over 11 sq miles where 7800 residents live, work and play.  It is an area full of parks (including a dog park), recreation center, an ice skating arena, a public golf course, tennis courts, a farmer's market and much more.  Rather than build it's own municipal pool, the City of Creve Coeur and the City of Maryland Heights have a partnership that allows residents to use the Maryland Height Aquaport, a 4 acres water park.

Are you into having fresh eggs from your own chickens?  If so, please note that Creve Coeur is one of the few municipalities in the area that allow backyard chickens.  They also have a Farmers Market which is open year round.

Creve Coeur is serviced by the Parkway and Ladue School Districts, both are Triple A districts.
